MND Collar
Many people with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) encounter difficulties with the comfort and support of traditional wrap-round collars.
Oxford Collar
This head support is specifically designed to help people who retain some control over the position of their head, but whose neck muscles are weakening and tire during the day.
The collar consists of a chin pad attached to a lightweight sprung wire frame that rests on two padded struts on the chest. A velcro strap around the lower part of the neck keeps the collar in position.
People using this dynamic support will find the weight of the head counter balanced, enabling some degree of flexion that is particularly helpful when swallowing.
